Gyan Yoga as a means to 'The Ultimate Freedom'

Gyana (Jnana) Yoga is one of the ways to attain the ultimate liberation. This pathway focuses purely on the knowledge or inner wisdom as a means to self-realization.

Gyan Guru

As said by Lord Sri Krishna in Bhagavat Gita, Gyana (jnana) is the proper understanding of kshetra (the field of activity--that is, the body) and kshetra-jna (the knower of the body--that is, the soul). And only through this knowledge, one can attain the ultimate goal.

Whatever the path is being followed for liberation, ultimately it ends at the Gyana (Jnana). Without the knowledge or understanding of the self, the liberation cannot happen. This is the path, where every other path merges before reaching the final goal.

The path of Gyana Yoga is explained by 3-fold principle as given by Adi Sankara.

1. Shravanam - Listening

2. Mananam - Reflecting

3. NidhiDhyasanam - Meditating/Practicing/Applying

Listening/hearing to the ancient wisdom and then reflecting it in the mind until all doubts are cleared and then meditating on the wisdom until the knowledge becomes one with the seeker. This, is the path of Gyana Yoga.

Sri Madabusi Subramaniam follows and teaches the path of Gyan Yoga as taught by his Gyani Guru (shown in the picture). All the articles given in the website, present the ancient wisdom of Gyana Yoga in simple but undiluted form.
